Alejandra Orozco was born in El Paso, Texas. The daughter of Mexican parents and growing up in the borderland, food was always in the picture! Naturally, coming from a family of entrepreneurship in the food industry, Alejandra was constantly surrounded by the aromas of all different kind of cuisines. It wasn't until four years ago, working at Cafe Central that her curiosity for the kitchen awoke. She felt inspired to develop her skills in the kitchen and decided to enroll in culinary school in Austin, Texas at Le Cordon Bleu.

After a year of formal training, she decided to expand her culinary experience in the real world by enrolling in an international internship in Spain. After several years abroad, she decided to return to the border region and put her skills to practice as the executive chef of the newly West Texas Chophouse in February 14, 2017.

The menu that she has created is inspired by her culture, her family, and her training. The Chile Gueros, a customer favorite, perfectly illustrates this blending of influences. While she works hard in the kitchen at West Texas Chophouse, she continues to dream big and looks forward to opening her own restaurant someday with her own concepts to bring to El Paso, Texas.

Alejandra Orozco is a great example of a minority women using her skills and training to be a success story for the Sun City.
